# Announcement: The fomosto-psgrn-pscmp repository is leaving GitHub
# PSGRN and PSCMP (packaged as fomosto backend)
*Potsdam, 2019-08-05*
[![Build Status](https://travis-ci.org/pyrocko/fomosto-psgrn-pscmp.svg?branch=master)](https://travis-ci.org/pyrocko/fomosto-psgrn-pscmp)
Since last week, [GitHub is restricting access to their services based on
user nationality and residence](https://help.github.com/en/articles/github-and-trade-controls>) ([see
also](https://techcrunch.com/2019/07/29/github-ban-sanctioned-countries)).
Such restrictions are incompatible with scientific standards in
international research communities like seismology.
Code to calculate synthetic stress/strain/tilt/gravitational fields on a
layered viscoelastic halfspace.
The fomosto-psgrn-pscmp software package is used by researchers worldwide. As researchers, we are obligated to retain open
access to all. To achieve this, we are now migrating our code repositories
away from GitHub to a new safe home. The new home of the fomosto-psgrn-pscmp repository
is at [git.pyrocko.org](https://git.pyrocko.org/pyrocko/fomosto-psgrn-pscmp/), open now.
PSGRN and PSCMP have been written by Rongjiang Wang.
To ensure a smooth
transition, we will keep a read-only version of the fomosto-psgrn-pscmp repository
at GitHub until 2019-10-01, when it will be deleted.
Packaging has been done by Hannes Vasyura-Bathke.

# Compile and install PSGRN and PSCMP
```
git clone https://git.pyrocko.org/pyrocko/fomoto-psgrn-pscmp.git fomosto-psgrn-pscmp
autoreconf -i # only if 'configure' script is missing
./configure
make
sudo make install
```
Thanks to the worldwide seismology community for all the support and help.
Best regards,
*The fomosto-psgrn-pscmp Developers*
# Installation
A Fortran77 compiler is required and the automake tools. These should be standard on Linux systems.
```sh
cd fomosto-psgrn-pscmp
# To run PSCMP with more receivers/source points
1. Choose larger values for `NPSMAX` and `NRECMAX` in `src/pscmp/pscglob.h`,
e.g.:
```
parameter(NPSMAX=100000)
parameter(NRECMAX=40000)
```
2. Recompile with `-mcmodel=medium`:
```
./configure FFLAGS=-mcmodel=medium
make clean
make
sudo make install
```
autoreconf -i
make
